What is a Commissioner league/game, for example NFL Commissioner?
A Commissioner league (also known as a League Manager) is a league where you can create and customize the rules to your own preferences. Many fantasy sports websites have a Commissioner/League Manager product, however Fantrax's offers the most customizability, for all sports (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, NASCAR, F1, PGA, EPL). If you're bringing your league over from another site, you should be able to set your league up exactly how you had it previously, if that's your intention. Why should I use Fantrax over any other fantasy sports website?
There are too many reasons to list in this answer. However, below are a few of them:

Where do they get their stats from?
They have multiple sources, depending on the sport, however our primary stat provider at this time is SportRadar. Are their stats accurate/reliable?
Yes, all stats across the site, for every sport, are accurate and reliable. They have various stat providers, depending on the sport, however their primary stat provider at this time is SportRadar. Occasionally the NFL, MLB, etc. do have errors with their stats, so of course, in turn (from our provider) may have those same inaccuracies. However, thier provider will automatically send us the corrections as quickly as possible, after they've been corrected by the NFL, MLB, etc. For fantasy leagues, all stat corrections that occur 24 or more hours after the end of the game where the correction occurred can be found in Other --> All Options --> Stat Corrections. In the NFL, for example, the Elias Sports Bureau (the official statistician for the NFL) reviews all of the games on tape every week and issues official stat corrections usually 2 days after all games are final (on Wednesday), however there is no deadline for these stat changes so they can technically occur at any time, for any sport (even weeks after, although that is rare). Whether or not these corrections take effect for your particular fantasy league depends on the timeframe that your Commissioner set (via Commissioner --> League Setup --> Scoring --> Preferences) for how long after a game stats become locked (team managers can view this setting for their league in the Scoring section in Other --> League Rules Summary). |
